Psalm 11:1-7

1In the LORD put I my trust: How say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? 2For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. 3If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? 4The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. 5The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. 6Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. 7For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright. (KJV)

Dale Ralph Davis
About Dale Ralph Davis: D. Ralph Davis, Ph.D. (1944-) was born in Mercer, Pennsylvania, the youngest of five sons in a Presbyterian manse. Graduated from Sterling College, Dubuque Seminary and Union Theological Seminary in Virginia, he earned his Ph.D. at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored several small churches and taught at Belhaven College and Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) before accepting Aisquith's call in 1988. Dr. Davis is known around the world as an "Old Testament guy," and although his deep insight into the Old Testament is undeniable, many of his Aisquith sermons had a New Testament text. Infused with his irrepressible wit, the sermons are down-to-earth, timely and a real treasure. They are online here with his permission. In 1994 he felt called to return to RTS where he spent several years before assuming the pastorate at Woodland Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg, MS. After a brief retirement, in January, 2014 Dr. Davis accepted a position as Minister in Residence at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC.
