1 Timothy 1:12-17

12And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; 13Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 15This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 16Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. 17Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (KJV)

Dale Ralph Davis
About Dale Ralph Davis: D. Ralph Davis, Ph.D. (1944-) was born in Mercer, Pennsylvania, the youngest of five sons in a Presbyterian manse. Graduated from Sterling College, Dubuque Seminary and Union Theological Seminary in Virginia, he earned his Ph.D. at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored several small churches and taught at Belhaven College and Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) before accepting Aisquith's call in 1988. Dr. Davis is known around the world as an "Old Testament guy," and although his deep insight into the Old Testament is undeniable, many of his Aisquith sermons had a New Testament text. Infused with his irrepressible wit, the sermons are down-to-earth, timely and a real treasure. They are online here with his permission. In 1994 he felt called to return to RTS where he spent several years before assuming the pastorate at Woodland Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg, MS. After a brief retirement, in January, 2014 Dr. Davis accepted a position as Minister in Residence at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC.
