When God looked down upon His earth,
And saw that it was fine,
He said, “Let’s put some people here,
To share with them what’s mine.”
The Father made the people,
He put them over all
In hope that they would worship Him,
And to Him they would call.

But the evil spirit, Satan,
Worked his way into their minds;
When the people saw the fun of sin,
They left their God behind.

The Father who had made them
Tried again to win their love;
But the people only drifted
Farther from their God above.

So after many prophets
Had tried in vain to teach,
The Father who had made them said,
“To you sinners I will reach.”
With endless love the Father sent
To earth His only Son.
“This is the only way,” He said,
“To show them I’m the One”

God’s Son grew up and showed the way
To guide the people right.
He asked them why in all these years,
They put God out of sight.

This Son of God is Jesus Christ.
With love He cured all strife;
These people still rejected Him,
So He freely gave His life.
Yes, they nailed the only Son of God
Upon a cross one day;
And as this precious Lamb hung there,
These last words He did say:
“Dear Father, many people know
That you’re the one God true;
So please dear God, forgive them, for
They know not what they do.”

Dear friends, believe in Jesus Christ
For He has shown the way,
He gave Himself so sin would die,
But still He lives today.
Yes, Jesus Christ is living still,
Neither grave nor Hell could hold
The Son the Father sent to us,
God’s love has now been told.
Now all the people who believe
That Jesus Christ’s the one,
Who showed us everlasting life,
Have God’s gift through His Son.
