In Old Testament read as the questions lead you and answer the following questions:

(1) The prophet Isaiah told about the coming of Jesus Christ and John the Baptist 700 years before it happened. There are 66 books in the Bible and 66 chapters in the Book of Isaiah. There are 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. Isaiah speaks of the events in the Old Testament era in the first 39 chapters. He prophecies the coming of John the Baptist and the Lord Jesus in the last 27 chapters. Do you think this is a coincidence or did God have something to do with it?

(2) Read Matthew 3:1-3.  Which verse in Isaiah 40 says the same thing. _________________________________________
